On April 26, ECI celebrated its 501c3 registration in the US with a lovely evening hosted by the Azar Foundation for the Children of the World in Washington, DC. The work of ECI was introduced to the guests by Founder and Board member Lael Mohib. Lead volunteer for sustainable development, Ilaha Omar, presented ECI's new community center it plans to build in cooperation with the government of Afghanistan over the next several years. Special thanks to Abigail Greenway and Masood Omari for performing traditional Afghan music, Hassina Ghani of La Tulipe for selling her fashion designs with partial proceeds going to ECI, and Azar Foundation for the Children of the World and Ms. Shahin Mafi for graciously hosting.
ECI will be hosting a fundraising Iftar in the US over the summer. If you are interested in getting involved with our US-based operations, please contact us: firstname.lastname@example.org
